No Monitors In California Landfills
On March 22, 2001 the Department of Toxics Substances Control (DTSC) confirmed that it is ILLEGAL to discard ANY cathode ray tube (CRT) computer or television monitors in California municipal solid waste landfills.

The mission of Goodwill Industries is to provide people with disabilities and other barriers the opportunity to achieve their highest levels of personal and economic independence. Goodwill Industries of Orange County collects and refurbishes computers and peripheral equipment which are then sold at value prices. Pentium and better computers can either be dropped off at Goodwill Computer Works or an attended donation center, or a Goodwill pickup can be scheduled for your home or office. Sorry, we are unable to accept B/W monitors or televisions due to state regulations.

Provides information technology training, and computers at no cost to qualified individuals, such as low-income individuals, seasonal workers and welfare recipients who lack computer related skills for the current job market. Training is offered as a full scholarship to these qualified individuals in the Bay Area Counties.

A non-profit Computer Training and Recycling Program. The center accepts computers and electronic equipment including radios, tvs, fax machines, copiers and more. They refurbish computer and office equipment and give them to public schools, non-profit organizations and disadvantaged individuals throughout the world. Donations not used are recycled saving them from going to landfill.
